The New 52 Adventures of Superman
A podcast reviewing and exploring every Superman adventure in DC Comics -- The New 52
03 Action Comics Superboy 2

Welcome back for the third episode of The New 52 Adventures of Superman, where Jon, Mike, and Dave crack into the second month of Superman's latest incarnation:

Action Comics 2 -- "Superman in Chains" -- Superman has been captured by Lex Luthor and must escape.  We learn a lot about his physiology and just how evil a man this new Luthor is.

Superboy 2 -- "Superboys and Their Toys" -- Superboy is sent on his first training mission before being sent after the Teen Titans.  The question arises concerning just where this series is headed, cuz it's not what we expected coming out of the first issue.

Thanks so much for listening. We do hope you enjoy the show, "we" being Jon M. Wilson from Golden Age Superman, J. David Weter of PADSmash!: An Incredible Hulk Podcast and Green Lantern's Light, as well as Michael Kaiser, coming out of retirement after having been involved with a couple different shows in months gone.  If you have thoughts on the books we cover or on our comments regarding them, please share them by writing an email or comment below.

Next episode due February 15

  • Hey guys! Another good show, naturally. This is slightly off-topic, but you touched on the "bipolar" nature of Superman prior to The New 52. What do you all think about the Donner & Johns "Last Son" arc? I ask because that is the arc that got me started collecting comics, Superman in particular. I really enjoyed it - I could totally see it being the basis for a Donner "Superman III" that never was. I can see why some longtime fans didn't care for it as much - it's not as though Superman's mythos is restricted to the elements Donner's film established - but for someone like me who was new to the character and the universe, it was exactly the right story at exactly the right time. So I'd be interested in hearing your opinion.
